Evans Creek Canoe/Kayak Launch Site

The entrance to this area is from U.S. 1 southbound between Village Green Drive and Walton Road. The accessible canoe/kayak launch site on the Evans Creek section of the north fork of the St. Lucie River offers paddlers an easy entry point onto the water. Paddlers can travel north or south on the river to connect with the eleven county-owned riverfront preserves along the paddling trail.
This is a bring-your-own-canoe/kayak site.

Be on the lookout for Gopher Tortoises that live in the uplands adjacent to the winding entrance road. Other wildlife you may see include alligators and birds such as the Anhinga sitting on a tree branch drying his wings after a successful water dive for a fish lunch.
