Pioneer Day

Every Spring, join us in celebrating the history of the mid-1800s settlers in our area.

Visitors will step back through time at this family fun event featuring activities and crafts circa mid 1800s. Demonstrators will show participants crafty ways to use corn husks, pine cones, and other natural resources. Costumed interpreters demonstrate foodways, childrens' old-fashioned games, household chores, and hunting weapons. Florida Master Naturalists lead tours of the Glass Lizard Trail where they identify plants the settlers used for food, medicine, and useful items. The event also features music by the Hot Sauce Boys, hay rides, guided kayak tours, and more!

Check the calendar for the date, time, and cost.
