Equestrian Poker Ride For Education photos - August 1, 2015

The first Equestrian Poker Ride for Education took place on August 1, 2015. Horseback riders explored the beautiful terrain of the Savannas Preserve State Park while having fun with their friends, enjoying lunch cooked by the Friends of the Savannas, and earning poker cards in hopes of having the best hand to win $100. Not only did everyone have a chance to win the grand prize of $100, generous sponsors from the Treasure Coast offered many giveaways. Because of the dedication of our hard working volunteers and park staff, this event was a huge success that helped raise $477 to purchase brand new student microscopes for our  Wet Lab in the Education Center. Special thanks to Carly Batts, a student at Stetson University's Club Equestrian. Carly suggested this idea to the Friends of Savannas and took the executive lead in planning, organizing, and executing this event.
