Native Plant Sale 12/14/2010
![]() So good that even our resident Sandhill Cranes love it! Our Friends of Savannas Native Plant sale is a collective volunteer effort to help promote native gardening of South Florida. While this project is an ongoing one, it has been particularly successful and ever-growing in recent months. The Shade House Committee offers a native plant sale at the Savannas Preserve Education Center. Varieties of plants include Rouge Berry, American Beautyberry, Prickly Pear Cactus, Wild Coffee, and much more! The ladies meet Thursday mornings at the shade house. There are many benfits to planting natives so if you are interested in buying or learning more, please stop by the Education Center. If you are interested in volunteering, please see the Volunteer Committees page. Add Comment Shade House 12/11/2010
![]() The 'Can-Do' Committee meets at 8 am on Thursday mornings at the Savannas Preserve State Park office located at 9551 Gumbo Limbo Lane. The Committee is instrumental in getting the handywork that is both needed and enhances the park on a weekly basis. Their motto screams that they 'can-do' just about anything! This particular project included building a storage shed to assist in the functioning of our shade house committee. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the new shed completed during the summer of 2010. | We do this because we care!
